ABCP COVID-19 Statement Regarding Recertification

During these challenging and unprecedented times, the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) is here to provide unwavering support for the CCPs. The ABCP is preparing for the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the CCP’s recertification requirements for this coming filing period.

Any recertification hardships faced by current CCPs regarding clinical case or professional activity requirements due to the COVID-19 crisis will be handled on a case-by-case basis and the CCP will be granted a filing extension at no charge until the end of the calendar year.

However, as stated below, the proper information and requests for an extension MUST be made to the ABCP National Office. Complete recertification extension details can be found on page 20 of the ABCP Booklet of Information (BOI).

  • Requests must be made in writing by the August 1st filing deadline.
  • The appropriate report(s) must be submitted, complete with all activity up to June 30th and the appropriate filing fee. Reports are available from our website: www.abcp.org > For CCPs > Recertification > Forms (Use Form 7d for Clinical Activity Report and/or Form 8d for Professional Activity Report).

The ABCP is very concerned for your health and welfare as well as the safety of public. Rest assured that the ABCP will continue to monitor the COVID-19 crisis and its effects on our profession and will adapt to make any necessary changes. We appreciate your patience during these extraordinary times. The ABCP will always be available via phone or email to answer any questions or problems that you may encounter. Please stay safe, follow recommendations made by health authorities, and most of all, please look after one another.
